NIQIE is a not-for-profit (501c3) organization founded in 2007 to support the integration of quality improvement and continuing education for health professionals with the ultimate goal of improving patient care. Our purpose is to close the quality/education gap through education, research, translation and publication.

Our Mission is to translate research into practice and to facilitate the development, delivery and convergence of healthcare education with performance improvement, in order to improve the quality, safety, and effectiveness of healthcare delivery.

1. Collaborate with the various stakeholders in healthcare, including medical educators, clinical research organizations, health plan organizations, pharmaceutical and device manufacturers, government entities, health systems, academic medical centers, medical societies and others, to bridge the quality gap.

2. Identify the gaps in knowledge and perceptions of healthcare stakeholders regarding the convergence of quality improvement and education, and develop collaborative strategies to meet those needs.

3. Provide translational research from healthcare industry, quality improvement and medical education data, to identify system-wide needs, gaps in knowledge and performance, and opportunities to close the quality gap, to enable stakeholders to deliver actionable solutions.

4. Create a framework for designing, developing, sequencing, and analyzing the results of performance improvement interventions and pathways, in order to disseminate best practices.

5. Collaborate with industry stakeholders to create awareness around the value of integration of quality improvement, innovative healthcare information technologies, and education
